SITTING STILL

Well, people I finally did it...broke down and bought tanning bed visits. I was not going to do this b/c I am looking old and I am scared of skin cancer, but I gave in...I gave in to the white skin...trading it off for something a little more tawny. I can't put on a swim suit looking like an Elmer's Glue advocate, now can I? Pasty, pastey, pastie (however you spell it). Ate supper w/ Laura and Cody and Jennica last night. Yep...more asparagus. Damn good, asparagus!!! It was good to visit with the girls. We should get together more often.

I had lunch with Ms. Debbie and Mr. Jim. We ate mexican at Juanita's...yummy. It was nice for them to come and see me. My most favorite people. Mr. Jim is going to fix my computer so hopefully I can put some pictures on the blog soon. I have so many to show.

I missed Cross Canadian Ragweed last night. I wanted to go soooo freaking bad. It was on a week night and I had to take the boy to his mamaw's house...long drive. Besides I was afraid I would over sleep. Hmmm...how ironic sense I didn't make into work today until 10:30ish. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I should have went. No, I should not have went.

WEEKEND

Well, the weekend was not ruined. It was actually pretty good considering Maddax had a stomach bug Thursday afternoon and partly Friday. I got to have a good visit with my Dad, sister and brother on Friday being that I had to stay home from work with Maddax. Maddax turned three on Saturday and I gave him a party at The Little Gym. It was so much fun, and he really enjoyed it. All of his little cousins were there and they were too cute and some of his friends from school. It was such a great day to get to visit with everyone, friends and family. Maddax is getting bigger and bossier....not to mention cuter everyday. I am so proud to have him in my life.

Saturday night I escaped the boy and the cousins for a nice supper with Cody and Laura. (I hurled right before dinner)...made room for more...HA HA. No, my stomach is always acting up lately and I mayhave had a touch of Maddax's stomach flu. Laura made some bomb asparagus...got to try that at home. I think I made a meal on the asparagus and cucumbers from Laura's garden...little Martha Stewart...that Laura!!!

Sunday was fun. I saw the Mother off...back to south AR and then Laura came over. She helped me in my flowers. We robbed some of her beds to fill up mine and then bought some hanging ferns. Oh yeah, I also mowed. First time in about two months. Maddax helped...boy, did he ever...he likes a watta hose. My electricity went out at around 4:30, so that pushed the little brother outside to help in the flowers, as well. So funny what happens can't watch TV. We had fun, though, well I did, and felt that a lot had gotten accomplished. At around 9:30, still with no electricity I think we all got a little testy...especially Maddax...try explaining to a three year old why he can't go inside and watch TV and why the lights won't work. 9:45 ENTERGY finally came through and fixed the broken electrical line. YEAH!!!

I think this was one of the best weekends I have had in awhile. I enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Thank you guys for coming to the party. And, Laura, thank you for helping me and being my friend. I am so glad you live here, too!!! You just do not know how much it means to me to have someone say..."Let me help you."

There comes a time in every woman's life when she has to take a close look at herself. Not at her circumstance, not at what she did, not how unfair life is, or not at whom made you do it. She has to just look at herself in all her glory and imperfection. Have you ever admired a woman who has been through changes in her life? Or have you made up in your mind that she is just messed up. Before you make this mistake, take a closer look. A woman who has endured the most unusual life is someone of wisdom, someone who has been chosen by God to go through things that have made her stronger. Think of all the great women in the Bible: Mary Magdalene, Ruth and Naomi, the woman with an issue of blood flow, and Esther, to name a few. Mary was a prostitute, a very uneasy woman. But by the time Jesus was done with her, she was His closest follower. Esther was unfortunate in marrying an abusive man, but by the time God was done with her, she had married one of the wealthiest men in the land.

Women are so quick to beat the next one down instead of trying to hold her up. Before you wonder, "What's up with her?" ask yourself, "What's up with me?" That woman could be my mother, sister, aunt, in-law, stepmother, niece, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor, friend, or co-worker, etc. That woman could be me.

Women are the carriers of life, not the channels of death. Let's build and encourage each other, as did Ruth and Naomi. Encourage and Love, Forgive and Forget, and trust that the woman who reads this will be touched in some way. May peace and love be upon you...

This is a forward I received in an email. I decided to put it on my blog because of the truth it holds in the way women treat each other. It is very sad that people judge and criticize others, not for who they are, but for circumstances that have or have not happened in their lives.

I have found through my own experiences that the women who have taken the "0ther road" or "gotten off track" a time or two are the ones with the best ears and biggest hearts. Thank you, God, for putting these people in my life.

RAH RAH RAS, KICK 'EM IN THE ....

Okay, Ginger's post has got me stewing about cheerleading b/c until I read Polly's comment I had not thought about cheerleading in soooooo long, and at that time in my life cheerleading was EVERYTHING. I have thought about so many memories surrounding the sport that now I have to blog it. So here is my question to you....What is your favorite memory of cheerleading in junior high? What is your worst memory of cheerleading in junior high? What is your favorite memory of cheerleading in high school? What is your worst memory of cheerleading in high school? Don't worry, if you were not a cheerleader, post anyway b/c regardless, cheerleading is/was a part of your school memories in one way or another and I am sure if you were not a member of the dazzling dozen you probably had a friend that was and she/he influenced their cheerleading on you some how. I mean, that was our job wasn't it?... to enforce our dynamic spirit for our school on EVERYONE. How cute we must have been and annoying all at the same time. I am probably going to have to post this in segments b/c I can see it is going to be very long.

JUNIOR HIGH - 8th Grade
My favorite memory from cheerleading in junior high? Hmmm....7th grade tryouts...I did the Chinese splits. I can't do the Chinese splits...I couldn't do them then and I sure as hell can't do them now. I did them, though...all the way down to the floor and put my hands up for a big RAH RAH. Another favorite...8th grade cheerleading...Bianca was my roommate at camp (I can't remember where we went, though??? LA Tech, I think ), getting to be on top of the pyramids, singing the "The Rose" on the basketball bus, (also falls into my worst memories from cheerleading...) teaching Mandy S. how to do the MC Hammer in Mr. Bill's front yard, Miss Alice, & the "innocence" of cheerleading...before high school.

So far that is all I have time for now...it may seem boring, but I promise it will be better in the high school segments. I could probably do another whole post on the Untold Secrets of Cheerleaders. We could be vicious little creatures, to each other especially. I would probably have to post that on an anonymous blog, though...hmm...you never know.
