i was very positive about the start of new year and the end of an old one. there is so much to be happy for right now and so much to be sad about. right now i feel a little numb inside. like if it hits me it won't stop hitting me until it breaks me. somebody has to be the strong one, right? like my brother looked at me when i told him in a way that said 'if you're not gonna cry...i'm not gonna cry' i didn't cry and he didn't either. i had already cried...a constant cry on the inside. my m.o. is more of the strength in the bunch...the one that holds together everyone so they can cry. he had that look on his face, though. my look. my i will be strong for you look. i don't get that look much from those that share my blood. it was a little weird, a little comforting, and in a way i just wanted him to cry b/c that is how it usually is and then i would say everything is gonna be alright.


As Jesus bore those stripes for us that we might be healed, please heal Mom

My aunt sent this to me in an email. I am reposting it on here. Boy, did I need to hear this today and remember that there are great things in life that do bring us joy even when it feels like the worse things have taken over our emotions. I am very positive, though, looking only to what the future holds. I see good things. I will not turn around and look at what is behind me...not anymore. Those doors are closed. The last thought in this post really puts a lot into perpective for me. I am dealing with a situation right now that is very hard for me to let go of. I want to say what is on my mind, but I have doubts about the need to just walk away. I give you to God. He can deal with you. I know I have done the right thing. For that I am happier, but you still make me sad.

This picture was taken exactly two years ago to the day. It is one of my absolute favorites. My baby has changed so much. It is so so hard to believe. He is getting sassier everyday. And has informed my this morning that he doesn't think he needs to go to school anymore. Hmmm....3 1/2 years old...it is going to be a long road to hoe baby ma ma. He also got in trouble at school for saying "stupid head." ( i was honestly suprised he wasn't saying "dumb ass" - we can thank Grammie for that one) He told me all about it and now he is totally into telling me what all the "bad words" are. Thanks to his teacher...he now knows there are words we are not supposed to say, which everyone knows makes us only want to say them more. Also, he has learned to spit. He also got in trouble for this. I guess I can thank all the spitters and skoal dippers that make this act look so cool when in reality it is disgusting and rude. He has also slept in his bed all night long two nights in a row!!! Whooo hooo! I hope we can keep this up. I remember when I would go and get him out of his bed and put him in mine b/c I didn't want to sleep alone. It is very hard for me at times...many, many times, but I feel so fortunate to have him all to myself. I wouldn't change it for the world. He loves me no matter what. There is no love like it.
